Great breakdown Mark! I'm also a big believer on focusing on your system rather than goals. Goals can provide direction and even push you forward in the short-term, but eventually a well-designed system will always win.
Totally agree, Kyle. I think it was Deming who said that if you can't describe what you're doing as a process, you don't really understand what you're doing. I started my career 40 years ago as a lowly design engineer. Ever since, I've been accused of not being able to talk about something without drawing a picture or a flowchart. I think in terms of process and systems, and I have trouble understanding those who don't. Cheers!
