For better or worse, we project managers use a lot of jargon. Increasingly common among the many terms one hears are the four “uncertainty” categories of project information: known-knowns, known-unknowns, unknown-unknowns, and unknown-knowns. Here’s a simple table to help explain the differences among these four (click image to expand):
